The Unrevised Student feels that “once is enough”—he is essentially finished with a paper after completing one draft, except for maybe a quick read-through on the way to class. Working on it any more seems like drudgery to him. However, as Rebecca Howard and Sandra Jamieson point out, “What many students do not know is that failed papers often result from lack of revision skills rather than lack of writing skills per se” (70). |
